Hillary Clinton's "Super Tuesday" Speech

I'm late getting this up, but what the heck ... I'll blame it on the flu bug I've been fighting for a month now. It might also account for my slightly melancholy mood.

There is a line in here that really touched my heart. My mother died in 1975, when I was 21 years old. It seems hard to believe she has been gone that long ... so when I hear someone around my age talk about their mother it makes me wish I still had mine here with me.

I've always been a feminist and what put the struggle for women's rights into perspective for me was the knowledge that when my mother was born women didn't have the right to vote.

Tuesday night, when Hillary was thanking her mother she said: "I want to thank all my friends and family, particularly my mother ... who was born before women could vote, and is watching her daughter on this stage tonight."

It was an amazing moment, and I'm sure the reason why so many feminist women my age are supporting Hillary.
