We Remember Maurice Sendak

Remembering Maurice Sendak
Words by Raymond Tyler

Mr. Maurice Sendak known best for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.

Wild Things has been one of the most popular children's books since it was first published in 1963.

I myself found out about the incredible dark and funny story telling of Mr. Sendak when I saw the CBS Special REALLY ROSIE that was based on Sendak's 1962 book.

From the first time I saw it to this day the cartoon special which has been performed by kids in plays across the country speaks to the kid in all of us.

Really Rosie speaks to the inner child in almost all aspects the selfish Pierre, the adventurous One Was Johnny and the curious WHO KILLED CHICKEN SOUP to the silly with Allegators All Around.

It sure didn't hurt that Carole King killed the sound track as Rosie....

Maurice Sendak will be missed by children everywhere, and kids of all ages...especially me..

Maurice Sendak was 83.
