Mitt Romney's campaign announced in an email sent at 11:08 Friday evening that he would announce his running mate Saturday morning in Norfolk, Virginia.
Romney has chosen a military backdrop for the event in the port city, the USS Wisconsin, a battleship-turned-museum. Romney has campaign on spending more heavily on the U.S. Navy.
Romney will follow the announcement with a campaign swing through Virginia.
