I received a hardcover of On a Farther Shore by William Souder for review form the publisher.

I received a hardcover of The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan for my birthday.  For some odd reason I was missing this book as well as the next two.  Not sure what happened to them, but it's nice to have this one again.

On a trip to a used bookstore on my birthday I ended up taking 4 books home for less than $5.  I got paperbacks of The Case of the Borrowed Brunette, The Case of the Lucky Legs, and The Case of the Perjured Parrot by Erle Stanley Gardner  I also picked up a paperback of Puzzle for Fools by Patrick Quentin.

When I got home from running errands and eating lunch on my birthday, I had a wonderful package of books waiting for me.  The lovely Becke of The Mysterious Garden Muse and the moderator of the Mystery Board on the Barnes & Noble book club site, was the lovely sender.  She sent along hardcovers of The Corpse With the Eerie Eye by R.A.J. Walling, Secret Letters by Leah Scheier, and The Old Silent by Martha Grimes.  She also sent along a trade paperback of What the Heart Remembers by Debra Ginsberg.  I also got paperbacks of The Lost by J.D. Robb and Change for the Worse by Elizabeth Lemarchand.

I also managed to pick up a hardcover of Level 26 by Anthony Zuiker from The Dollar Tree.

I received a bound galley of Blood Eye by Giles Kristian for an upcoming TLC Book Tour.

The lovely Beth of Beth's Book Reviews sent me a very lovely package.  Inside were some great vintage mystery paperbacks.  She sent along two books by Mary Roberts Rinehart, The Confession & Sight Unseen and The Breaking Point.  She sent along another Rex Stout book, I really need to get reading them, The Sound of Murder.  She also sent along three books by Hazel Holt, Mrs. Malory's Shortest Journey, Mrs. Malory and the Festival Murder, and Mrs. Malory: Detective in Residence.  Inside the box was a really sweet surprise, a jar of maple sugar.  I can't wait to use it on some baked butternut squash.

This is two weeks of books since I didn't get a Mailbox Monday posted last week.

I received a trade paperback of Charlotte Markham and the House of Darkling by Michael Boccacino, an ARC of Miss Me When I'm Gone by Emily Arsenault, and a hardcover of The Twilight War by David Crist for upcoming TLC Book Tours.

I received a trade paperback of The Absolutist by John Boyne for an upcoming online Book Club.

I received a hardcover of Eat the City by Robin Shulman for review by the publisher, The Crown Publishing Group.

I only made one trip to Barnes & Noble during my staycation, and only bought two book while I was there.  I picked up a paperback of For Heaven's Eyes Only by Simon R. Green.  I'm not that big into western books, but one book I loved growing up was The Loneseome Gods by Louis L'Amour.  I actually bought it again within the last 10 years, but don't know what happened to it.  On a whim I picked up a new paperback of it.

I did manage to get to a used bookstore and found two paperbacks by Mary Roberts Rinehart I didn't have.  I found Lost Ecstasy and Episode of the Wandering Knife.

I won a DVD of The Secret Garden from Sheila of Book Journey.

On a trip to Best Buy, I found season 1 of The Big Valley for only $15, so I had to get it.
