She's a Canadian girl - and had a Canadian Show.
My wife has gotten into a daze these days watching hours of old episodes of Being Erica on Netflix. Yes, sometimes it has happened when I am in the same room... but I honestly do try and avoid it. (if you missed it, the girl in the pictures is Erica)
All right - now that I have provided some sort of disclaimer, I have taken in the general premises
.
Erica is a time traveler - or is that Dr. Tom? and she is also in therapy. (they go hand in hand) can you guess whom Erica's Doctor is? Hopefully you have seen an episode or two so what I am typing is not total nonsense to you. But if not, I will do my best - see how I do anyway for only seeing maybe three episodes in full.
Erica is frequently transported from living her real life to a sub plan of existence, (I think) and meets with Dr. Tom in his office. For instance - Erica will open the front door of her apartment to go to work, instead she steps through and finds herself bouncing into Tom's office. (Gawd this is complicated!)
Everything Erica has done or does is analyzed in a very meaningful way. Meaningful as in - if you are going to go to therapy, this is how to do it.
Dr. Tom gives Erica adventures, she gets to go back and relive her past. Event by event - relive it, make changes, laugh again, cry again.... best of all, I think the changes stick. (haven't seen enough to make that conclusion for sure. lol)
The last episode I caught in the living room, Erica was given a do over - one day, she could do anything, live the day consequence free.
Long story short, she told off who she wanted to tell off, helped steal a car, made out with a friend, ran from police, and pissed off her sister.
The show's drama aside... got me thinking... What would you do with a mulligan?
Not an easy question, you only get one. and most peoples lives have a fair bit of regret in them. But, is that not just a part of live that teaches "life lessons"?
I don't think I could come up with any one day to redo, but if I could, I would erase a few embarrassing steps along my cosmic path.
As for the show, it was canceled. I think it got about four seasons in. Not bad.
