Christiane Amanpour a breath of fresh air

When ABC announced that Christiane Amanpour would take over the helm of “This Week” I thought “finally, an intelligent voice leading the debate on Sunday mornings.” The programs this weekend validated my opinion.

Instead of feeding the flames of religious bigotry regarding a proposed Islamic Center in New York City, Amanpour interviewed Daisy Khan and Joy Levitt (see below).

By contrast, David Gregory’s coverage of the issue featured interviews with Sen. Mitch McConnell, former Rep. Dick Armey, and the Republican candidate for NY governor former Rep. Rick Lazio. No wonder there is such hatred of Muslims with this kind of garbage being offered. Gregory should send Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D-MI) flowers for agreeing to appear on this train wreck.
