Celebrity dish reporter Jill Rappaport and her sister Linda Solomon have written a new book "Mazel Tov! Celebrities' Bar and Bat Mitzvah Memories"Appearing on the Today Show this morning, Al Roker began the segment by saying:
For millions of Jewish Americans, bar and bat mitvahs serve as important rites of passage in their spiritual upbringing. Jill Rappaport and her sister, Linda Solomon, have written a new book called "Mazel Tov! Celebrities' Bar and Bat Mitzvah Memories" that offers affectionate and revealing looks at celebrities as they speak about their faith, family and childhoods.
The best line of the interview, and what prompted this post, was and exchange between Jill and Al when he said: "You don't have to be Jewish to appreciate this book." To which Jill replied:
"Well that's what I love about it. It's a great Hanukkah gift and also a great Christmas gift -- well maybe not for Ann Coulter!"
